Lets put aside if its PC or over PC for a second. All GAP commercials are annoying and should be barred from TV. Its January 2ed and I still can’t get “how cute are these boots” out of my head.

You folks are reading much too much into the commercial. I see the commercial more as a commentary on the economic times. Perhaps people don’t want to spend the $$ on all the trappings of christmas this year, but it doesn’t mean they can’t still celebrate. Besides the commercial is trying to get people to buy stuff, how much more American can you get? And they butchered Hannakah (whatever you wannaka?) , not Christmas, so what is the complaint?

Well said, John. I think any religion that will “kill you in the name of my god” isn’t a religion I want to be a part of. I have many Pagan friends, and they are much better people than any judgemental christian I’ve ever known.
If you look at the basics of any religion, they are all simply a means to tell it’s society how to “act” properly in the culture. If it weren’t for the threat of hell-fire and damnation, most christians would “do what they wannukah.” And most do anyway, due to the lame loophole of “forgiveness.”
I consider myself Post-Religious, because I have evolved beyond the need for it. I treat the world with respect, love my neighbors, am kind to animals and kids and “do what feels right” which is acting like a decent Human Being without some antiquated religion telling me I “have to.”

Which Christian values are you referring to. The ones that provoked the Salem Witch trials? The genocide of the native american? The ones that allowes Slavery for 100 years, segregation, the oppression of women?
Your right. I can’t wait till they are gone. Wake up man. Your “degregation of American values” is nothing but an illusion. America is more moral and virtuous now than it has ever been. And it that is due in a large part to our multicultural diversity. Societies that are intolerant inevitably fail.

Thank you DISH Network!
Now see, that wasn’t so hard and it had a oh so joyful spirit.
I was waiting for someone to roll through on their office chair and was pleasantly surprised when one did!

I love to see real employees in their own company’s commercials. This spot along with the GE commercials are done very nicely and really make a connection with their audiences.

Merry Christmas to you too. I hope the spot ran all across America.
